Rosettes are a wearable, versatile accessory that are making their way back into our lives for Spring 2023. We saw a preview in the fall 2022 shows, but the rosette was all over the red carpet and the runways in 2023.
So a bit of history on this trend. I recently learned the rosette goes back to the 17th century when the British Elite would wear it as an embellishment on shoes. I also used to see it on ugly 80’s prom dresses and thought I would never wear that…
But then I saw the appeal when our favorite Sex and the City gal Carrie, SJP, dropped this look.

A rosette worn incorrectly can make you look like someone’s grandmother. When the look made its way to the red carpet this year at the numerous award shows, it was a hit for some and a miss for others. I hated the look on Halle, but loved it on Zendaya.
Rosettes can be combined with any look in my opinion; they can add texture, and dress up simple outfits.

I’m definitely a fan of the more subtle trend. The rosette is one of those timeless pieces that will always make its way back into our rotation. I recently invested in a choker and a brooch.
