One of my favorite fashion bloggers blaireadiebee recently posted a dress on IG. If you’re not following Blaire, please check out her blog or IG page, you won’t be disappointed. She was wearing this lovely little ETRO – Floral Paisley Scoop Neck Stretch Cotton Sheath Dress. It has a fitted silhouette with a round neckline and darts at the bust. Spring/summer ‘23 style.
I immediately decided I had to have this dress. I found the dress on the Nordstrom site for $2150.00 – but there was no way I was paying over $2k for this dress. I do have a child that may want to attend college someday.
I checked the Nordstrom site every day last month, hoping this dress would go on sale. Then I did a Google image search to see if I can find the dress at a cheaper price point. I finally found it cheaper on Poshmark in a size small. I started to sign up for weight watchers, because I would need to loose about 15 pounds so I could fit in that small, but to the right on the search page was the same dress, but for $55.29.
I clicked on the link and was immediately taken to the AliExpress.com site featured below:
The fashion girlies on Tiktok always talk about DHgate, but I didn’t know about AliExpress. I got something from DHgate, it was a dupe Fendi sunglasses, but when it arrived, the logo on the side was “EENDI.” I keep my EENDI sunglasses as a cautionary tale of what can happen to you when you buy dupes online.
Anyway, I wanted this dress so desperately I decide to try my luck and buy the dress off AliExpress. I figured $55.00 won’t break the bank and it might look like tohe original. It arrived a little over a week later, and was nicely packaged. As soon as I opened it I noticed that the AliExpress version of the Etro dress has some extra details that I kind of really like, and the quality was pretty good. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t know what the original Etro dress is like since I will never purchase at that price point, but the AliExpress version is not bad at all. It’s a cotton and polyester blend with a few extra details, and if that doesn’t bother you, definitely order this dress.
